Veterans Intern, lawyer, VA Accredited Agent, or Advocate—Veterans Law Disability Compensation Appeals
Part or full time depending on experience
We seek a veterans disability advocate/accredited agent (or other) who has has some past legal experience in assisting disabled veterans. This could particularly apply to experience at the Veterans Administration (VA), a Veterans Service Organization, or a law firm. Ban Law Office is a small public interest-oriented law firm that focuses on appeals for VA compensation claims. We are based in Utah but have clients across the US represent veterans at the administrative level and sometimes at the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. The applicant could be a person that resides in any state.


Responsibilities:
– Be experienced in reviewing case/medical files while formulating theories for the case, appeal strategy, and craft arguments in favor of service connection, higher ratings, effective dates, in advancement of veteran’s compensation. Be able to pay close attention to detail, deadlines, and work proficiently with the firm’s case management software and other computer applications to help streamline the appeal process.
– Should be sensitive to the needs of the veteran’s community, such as mentally ill veterans, and otherwise have solid people and service-oriented skills.
– Proficient at research of applicable regulations, agency level policy/rules, case law, and development of medical file factual evidence, or lay statements that are often informal in nature.
– Be skilled in usage of Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Applications, laptop computers, and other types of computer applications.
Compensation/to Apply
– Hourly: $24.00/hr. or more depending on experience.
– Remote Worker—must have reliable internet connection /router.
