Some Social Security and Veteran Claimants may be interested in a new Work Ability Conference. The Utah Department of Workforce Services will be holding their next Employer Training Workshop on September 14, 2010 at the Division of Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired (DSBVI) located at 250 N. 1959 W. Salt Lake City. This workshop is designed to provide information on hiring and retaining individuals with disabilities. Lunch will be provided with an opportunity to speak with other employers and professionals in the disability field. *No fee* to participate. Second, the Work Ability Career Exploration and Job Fair on October 12, 2010 held at The Sanderson Center of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, located at 5709 S.. 1500 W, Taylorsville. This job fair is an excellent opportunity to market your business and open positions to disabled individuals who are ready, willing and able to work. The information fair component allows you to participate even if you do not have current positions available. The information fair will allow the job fair participants to gather information on how to prepare to apply with your business in the future. Workshops for both employers and job seekers will be offered on topics such as; online applications, answering tough interview questions and working while receiving SSI/SSDI. Lunch will be provided for participating employers and there is *no fee* to participate.
